Essential Tools Every Homeowner Should Have
June is National Homeownership Month (check out our posts for new homeowners here), so we're wrapping up the month with one more post for our new homeowners. You've closed on the house, moved all your stuff in, and now you've found those little home repair projects that start popping up. Every homeowner needs a set of tools for quick fixes and repairs--and here's a good list to have, whether you think you'll do a lot of DIY projects or not. You can grab the items on sale as you see them, or even pick up a kit marketed to new homeowners and upgrade the tools as you can.
-Hammer
-Pliers
-Wrench
-Drill
-Screwdriver
-Measuring tape
-Utility knife
-Level
-Good quality flashlight (and/or headlamp)
-Ladder and/or stepstool
-Extension cords
-Nails and screws
-Shovel
-Plunger
-Fire extinguisher
-First aid kit
-Safety gloves
-Safety goggles
-A good pair of boots
Ready to kick off that DIY project? Check out our blog post from last week about DIY safety, and make sure to read up on when to hire a handyman. Once you have that toolbox packed and ready to go, your home will be looking just the way you want it in no time. If you've got bigger projects on your mind, give Hunter Handyman Services a call at (815) 780-7884 for more information or a free estimate (see all our services here).
