It’s November, and that means Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away…not to mention all of the other winter holidays! If you’re hosting the holidays this year, you’ll want to make sure your home is in tip-top shape for when the family comes to celebrate. Here is our list of projects to help you get your home ready for your holiday guests:
-Paint: Does your guest room need a fresh coat of paint? Or maybe it’s your living or dining room? Now’s the perfect time, and painting is a great way to update a room’s look without a big investment. Whether you need your whole house painted, a couple of rooms, or just need paint or drywall patched in a few places, Hunter Handyman Services is happy to help.
-Declutter: This is often a process, and whether you’re someone who throws your extra stuff in the bathtub or not, make sure you give yourself enough time to properly go through your items, especially if you need to go through multiple rooms. Do your best to put everything back in its place (and keep it there), or donate or store the items you don’t need or don’t use frequently. We can even help you haul those heavy boxes away.
-Flooring: Vacuuming and cleaning your flooring can wait until closer to your guests arrive, but if your floors need repair or you want to change them out, now is the time to get that taken care of. Now is also the time to spot treat any stains on your carpet.
-Clean the yard: Raking leaves, cleaning your gutters, putting away any summer gardening decorations or equipment are all things to complete before your guests come. If the weather is nice and you plan to sit outside, make sure you have enough seating to accommodate everyone.
-Check your lighting: Do you need to replace any bulbs? Are all of your light switches working? How about all of your outlets for those extra phones that need to be charged? If you need assistance with any of these items, Hunter Handyman Services is happy to help.
-Putting up decorations: Of course you want your home to look festive and welcoming for your guests. Hunter Handyman Services is happy to bring decorations out of storage and put up outdoor decorations, including hanging lights.
-Appliances: Check to make sure that your appliances are working. If you’ve ordered new appliances and need someone to install them, Hunter Handyman Services can take care of that for you.
These are just a few items to think about as you prepare for your guests to arrive. If you need assistance with these or any other projects to help make your holidays happier, give Hunter Handyman Services a call at (815) 780-7884 for a free estimate today!
