What is a handyman service, and how can it help me?

In January 2025, we introduced At Your Service, a handyman service program. At Your Service is unique in that, when you sign up, a Hunter Handyman Services handyman will come to your home approximately every six weeks to check on small maintenance and prevention tasks so they don't become big issues later.

Why is this important? You have pest control come to your home regularly to prevent pest problems. You may have a company come to service your air conditioner once a year to make sure it's in working order. Homes require a lot of upkeep and maintenance, so why not have a handyman keep an eye on all those little prevention tasks?

Here’s what our handymen will tackle when you sign up:

-Visual inspection around the outside of the house (verify that siding is good, gutters are undamaged, etc.)

-Check and clean gutters

-Check and change furnace filter

-Change out lightbulbs

-Check for leaky faucets and any leaks around water source (water heater, water softener, water hose)

-Make sure water hose is disconnected for the winter and ready for the summer

-Yard cleanup: removal of yard waste and yard debris (trash, fallen tree branches)

-Add salt to water softener

-Check foundation for cracks and seal as necessary

-Weather strip around doors

-Fix loose hinges on cabinet or laundry doors

-Check entry doors for security and air tightness

-Replace or repair door handles

-Install blinds or curtains

-Other small jobs such as taking something to the garage or basement or moving a small piece of furniture

You’ll even receive a notepad for the fridge with job suggestions and space for you to write what you need your handyman to do each time they visit.
